Topic – The United Kingdom and the EU

There will be four homework assignments based on a current event topic of my choice. They will all follow the same general pattern. Your assignment is to write a paper (minimum 1 page, maximum 3 pages) in which you discuss the topic and answer in essay form the questions I list below. I will give you suggestions of where to go to read about the topic.
Requirements:
No larger than 12 point font
Regular or narrow margins – no bigger
Double Space
1 page minimum – 3 pages maximum
Use paragraphs, capital letters where appropriate, correct grammar etc. This is a college assignment, please take time to review what you wrote. There is a rubric at the bottom of this assignment that shows how the paper will be graded.
DO NOT cut and paste from the articles. Read them and then answer in your own words. That does not mean cut and paste into your essay and then change a few words. If you want to quote and you may quote short sentences, use quotation marks. The paper should not contain more than 3 short quotes per page. YOU DO NOT NEED TO CITE SOURCES.
Please place your name and your class time on the paper. It should look something like this:
Jane Doe – Homework 1 Europe – 10am class or 11 am (you can put all this on one line to save paper)
You may also print on the back of your page if you wish to conserve paper. Please be sure and STAPLE your pages if you have more than one page.
There is a rubric at the bottom of this assignment that will help you understand how your essay will be graded.
