The following questions ask you to solve problems involving topics we’ve covered this week. Work each problem on paper, and post a scanned image of your work for each question, along with a brief description of how you solved the problem. Your scanned work should include a step-by-step solution to the problem. By Friday, September 26, 2014, scan and post your work to the W6 Assignment 2 Lab Dropbox.

Question 1 
Aluminum has a resistivity of 2.7*10-8 Ωm.  What would be the resistance of 100 m of aluminum wire with a cross-sectional area of 2*10-4 m2?

Question 2 
A 10 ohm resistor and a 20 ohm resistor are connected in parallel.  What is the equivalent resistance of this setup?

Question 3 
A 4 ohm resistor and 10 ohm resistor are connected in series.  If this circuit is connected to a 12 V battery, how much current will flow through the circuit?

Question 4 
A 30 ohm resistor is connected to a 1.5 V battery.  How much power is dissipated by the resistor?

Question 5 
Two point charges, each 6*10-5 C, are separated by 30 cm.  What is the electrostatic force produced by this arrangement?
