Political socialization is a function of a number of elements.  We each get many of our views on life from our upbringing. This can vary depending on the type of home we have experienced as well as the neighborhood we have lived in. Forming our political idea is no different. In today’s political climate there is a good amount of polarization. I have instituted a request when my extended family gets together that the discussion of TODAY’S political climate is off limits.

Quantitative studies have determined that most political socialization occurs during childhood.  What do Course members think of this idea?
