CORP5066 2017 Assessment 2 Guide Assessment 2 is an individual developmental business modelling project (worth 80% of the overall module grade) and has two components: Part 1 consists Of a 5 minute explanation of visuals supporting the report (this is worth 10% of the assessment 2 mark). – Visuals will take place in class in week 31 & 32 Part 2 is a written report (reflecting the initial briefing and the objectives noted below) (this is worth 90% of the assessment 2 mark). – The report should be 2500 words (+/- 10%) – Deadline for report submission is 10th May by 1.30pm (physical copy to the SAC

and digital copy to Turnitin)

Part 1: Business Model Canvas Development Visuals

 Two visuals of the Business Model Canvas Required.

 First visual the Business Model Canvas for the current business model of your chosen case/business.

 Second visual the new Business Model Canvas for the case/business based on your analysis critically discussed in the report (Part 2)

 Visuals produced on A3 template. Provided on Blackboard or you can use the online Business Model Canvas tool (https://bmfiddle.com/f/#/).

Part 2: Business Model Canvas Development Report

There are three primary objectives that the report should seek to address:

Objective 1

 To analyse the current business model of a case organisation (choice of organization is made by each student and must be different from the organization used for the Assessment 1 presentation).

 Analysis should make use of the Business Model Canvas approach (Week 19).

Objective 2

 Identify the type of business model adopted by the organization (reflecting the module content over weeks 19-23)

 Evaluate the existing business model of the case organization, using appropriate theory (reflecting module content over weeks 24-26)

Objective 3

 Given the findings under objective 1 and 2, offer proposed modifications to the organization’s business model

 Outline clear benefits for the organization that the modifications may deliver

 Consider implementation (reflecting module content from week 27)

Report Format and Submission Criteria 1. The report should be typed, single spaced, using 12 point Helvetica or Arial fonts. 2. The structure of the report should follow the order below:

– Title page (not included in word count) – Contents (not included in word count) – Executive summary – Introduction – Main body – Conclusion / Recommendations – Reference list (not included in word count) – Appendices – if required (not included in word count) 3. It must be correctly referenced using the standard Harvard system. 4. It must be submitted in hard copy to the SAC, plus submitted in digital form (i.e.

Microsoft Word .doc, .docx format, pdf etc) via the Turnitin link for assessment 2 on the module’s Blackboard site. Digital submissions must be received by the assignment deadline. Don’t assume instantaneous delivery.

5. Any evidence of plagiarism will be dealt with severely in accordance with DMU regulations.

6. Inadequate referencing and poor academic practice, poor standards of written English, and late submissions will also be penalised.
