After read the Case answer the following question 1-3:
1. Discuss the nature and probable sources of the problem.
2. Examine the rough-cut capacity situation using the data Jason gathered. Discuss the results and how they are linked to the problems identified in question 1.
3. Use the information and your knowledge of the situation to develop a complete plan for Jason to use in the future. Part of this plan should be to build and demonstrate the approach to master scheduling for the data given in the case.

ADDITIONAL:
In order to solve some of the issues for Wescott Products, MPS for each model and check for capacity requirements. If Wescott runs out of capacity (regular time + overtime), adjust MPS to meet the capacity constraints. See Excel spreadsheet.
Some suggestions for each case questions.1. Need to analyze the problems and constraints thoroughly. They are: rapid growth in sales, Ops. Manager lacks experience, and no formal production planning & control process which lead to the following: customers not getting orders on time, Randy had less time developing new sales and lost old customers, too much subassemblies/parts high inventory cost, cannot replace skilled labor and workers don’t want OT which lead to capacity constraint, one week lead time for all models is not reasonable, large lot size for D and E, …2. Briefly discuss the capacity problem to meet the demand for Model A to E.3. Change the MPS in order to work with the capacity available (regular + OT) assuming you can change the lot size, allow stockout/backorder, … etc.
