DISCUSSIONS TO SUMMARIZE FOR PAPER

People may not appreciate the cultural views of others due to culture clash, stereotypes, and lack of research. Culture clash is the conflict of behavior patterns and values those results when different cultures are incompletely assimilated (merriam-webster.com, pg. 1). There are several issues that cause cultural conflict. Six of these issues stood out, the misunderstandings or conflict between nationalities, religions, and or ethnic groups; insensitivity and culture ignorance; lack of awareness of different societal lifestyle practices; different perception of illness and treatment; and lastly miscommunication (communitydoor.org, pg. 1). Although culture clash is one of the main issues, most of it starts with stereotypes. Stereotypes can make you hate someone before you even say hi. They can even make you hate a whole race just because you think their society is worthless, so that means they are. Some might even say this is where racism and discrimination mold from, for most hate crimes. Lack of research especially in a company can lead to serious depreciation for other’s cultures, mostly because they have a lack of awareness. If you do not research the culture before you enter globalization, you could step on a lot of toes you didn’t mean to step on.

Appreciating one’s culture affects people’s ability to communicate effectively in multi-national corporations and international non-profit agencies because they feel welcome. Think about it if someone came to America and started ripping at our core values would you want to work with me or against me. Communication is one of the sole things you need to make the company stand and if you take that away or are not being efficient then your company falls. You can’t slap someone’s grandfather and then turn around and ask that family for money. All cultures matter and with globalization appreciating the cultures where your business will be sailing are essential to success.
