Stock Journal

  1. Record the current price of the stock for each company you selected in Week 3’s Stock Journal. You may use any price during this week (e.g., day one price, the opening, the low, the high, the close, or any price you find when you check it during the day). Using MS Word document, put your Week 3 and Week 8 stock prices side-by-side, to show your comparison.
  2. Determine the current value of your total investment. Do not make any changes to your investment at this time. Calculate your total based on the number of shares and the new price per share, for each company.
  3. Provide your opinion / assessment of your investments. Evaluate the results of your current investment. Are you happy with the result and the trend? Are you upset because you’re investment is worth less than $25,000. Feel free to speculate / guess at why you believe the stock increased, decreased, or remained static. [Here is the Week 3 Response I did: Just to keep in mind]

The three companies I’d like to invest are Tesla, Inc (NASDAQ), Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ) and JPMorgan (NYSE). Tesla is such a high demand for the new generation of electric vehicles that we are transitioning into nowadays, stocks as of October 20 is at $345.10. The next company is revolutionizing the shopping experience online and expanding tremulously by buying out Whole Foods which is the top US seller for organic items. There is definitely some light in the tunnel for some profits in the future, stocks as of October 20 is at $982.91. Lastly, the third company I choose for this project is JPMorgan because the bank holds the top spot with $2.39 trillion in asset, with Bank of America being second with $2.17 billion in asset. Not only is JPMorgan the big dog in the banking business, but I believe their performance will increase under Trumps administration given his vows to “dismantle” the Dodd-Frank Act and reduce corporate tax rates. Their stock prices are at $99.51 as of October 20 as well.
