Collins: The Moonstone, Prologue + Chapters 1-3
(500-750 word) paper should focus on one of our assigned readings, and discuss your reaction to the text, how it reflects the themes we’ve been discussing in class, how it connects to other texts we’ve read, how the text “speaks to” the current day, etc. What I’m looking for in these papers is engagement with the text—I want to see that you’re generating your own questions about these texts (and attempting to answer them). The audience for these papers is primarily me, but you should write it with the expectation that someone other than me might read it at some point.
